you comment very long time ago, but no, you have to “cure” the tobacco to get the greatest taste, normally 6 months to 2 years (depends on type of tobacco and your own taste likeness
Here in Virginia on our farm we grow burley and flue cured. I guess your trying to replicate flue curing? When you say the leaf is dried and then ready to be cured is incorrect. In flue curing you set the color (lemon-orange)at around 95-100dgs F, and then raise the heat to “kill the barn”. Drying is about the last thing to happen. If the leaf dries to quick it will turn brown instead of yellow-orange. In an old barns it takes us about 4-5 days if the leaf is ripe.But good work anyway.
the fan was an old pc fan that was suspended over a pot of water to get it to the right humidity. There was also a humidifyer in the chamber, but it needed more moisture. Yes the chamber has holes in the top and bottom for air flow although i has to cover the top hole because of heat escaping. I believe that this was because I made the mistake of using a 1 kw heater instead of a 2 kw.
curing removes the bad smell that you get when burning uncured tobacco. Smells a bit like marijuana (herbal).
once the leaf is dried you then start the curing.
I think the tobacco I grew can be air cured by hanging under a shelter outside for a month or so.
all that was in the chamber was a oil filled radiator and a humidifier. The radiators thermostat had to be replaced with a water boiler thermostat to get a higher temp. I might try the air cure option next time (less fire risk)
@spiracy Hi I need Flavoring help ????

I noticed the fan and was wondering if you had holes in the bottom by the fan and on top of the chamber?
Thanks,
Marijuana smells bad? LOL Cool vids, I’m gonna have to look into this more.

what does the curing do? does it need curing if its already been hung dried? what was in your curing chamber too?
Looks like a nice set up..
