Columbus, Georgia (PRWEB) November 19, 2008

For most people, the holiday season kicks off with Thanksgiving, the last Thursday in November. It’s when families come together to celebrate and give thanks for what they have.

After the meal and before attacking the leftovers is the perfect time to sit back, relax and enjoy the pleasure of a premium cigar to enhance those special times, according to the 2,000 manufacturers and neighborhood cigar store owners who are members of the International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association.

“Thanksgiving is the perfect occasion to savor a mild- to medium-bodied cigar such as those with the Connecticut shade leaf wrapper or cigars from the Dominican Republic. The pleasant aroma of such a cigar makes ordinary moments special and special moments extraordinary,” says Jorge Armenteros, founder of Tobacconist University, the official curriculum resource of IPCPR.

“On Thanksgiving, families and friends should focus on smoking the same brand and shape of cigar. This way, you can talk about and compare the flavors and aromas you are experiencing, sharing taste and preferences while learning from each others’ opinions. Smoking the same brand of cigars with others enhances the learning and bonding experience while anchoring the pleasant and celebratory occasion. Your local IPCPR tobacconist can give tips on a range of excellent cigars that fit the occasion,” he suggested.

Armenteros explained that what makes a hand-made cigar special begins with the tobacco growing process and continues through aging and hand-rolling. All told, from seed to cigar store, more than 300 dedicated people are involved in the production of each premium cigar.

“Today’s manufacturers of premium cigars have combined natural growth and aging processes with modern technology and old-fashioned techniques that result in a broad range of shapes, sizes and flavors to suit today’s preferences,” he explained.

www.smokinghotcigarchick.com I had the honor of catching up with Kris Kachaturian at this year’s IPCPR. Kris is partners with Abdel Joseph- “AJ” Fernandez who is an up and coming prodigy in the cigar industry. AJ is a masterful blender at such a young age, rolling cigars for some of the biggest names out there. He also comes from three generations in the tobacco industry. Be on the look out for AJ Fernandez and his newest launch with his own cigars- this is a name you will want to know if you don’t already. Be among the fortunate to catch this one early.

www.smokinghotcigarchick.com I had the pleasure of meeting Heather Phillips of Heavenly Cigars, and in this video Heather gives us the details on what we can look forward to. Personally, the “Red Lion” sounds like a fantastic new cigar I will have to seek out and try as this will be an all unflavored and natural tobacco cigar. I love how she has incorporated her personality into the name, too- very nice! And she is an absolute delight, I look forward to trying out the flavor profile on this one. Now for me, flavored cigars are not my palate, (I’m pretty traditional) but I am aware that they are for many others. And this I can appreciate, especially if it is the introduction to trying more styles and gaining a greater enthusiasm into cigars. It’s all about finding what you like. I’ll be looking for the Red Lion once it is released and give you the update once I do. I’ll be looking into perhaps finding a guest blogger to give the perspective on the new selection from Heavenly Cigars as well. Be sure to check in on the blog for all the updates!
