If you’re a business owner and you have never experienced the joy of creating cash on demand –– that is cash when you need it –– then consider yourself fortunate to be reading this article.
I’m about to pull the curtains apart and reveal the men and women whose mastery of marketing helped me to overcome the challenges of cash flow problem in my own business.
But before I do that, I’d like to make a few things clear. When I first started to study marketing, I made the mistake of buying any book that has the word ‘marketing’ written anywhere on its cover jacket.
Why was this a mistake? Because, as I later found out, not all marketing is marketing. Now, that is not exactly how I mean to put it. So let me explain. You see, marketing, like so many other things in life, has more than one side to it.
There is, for example, marketing as taught at Ivy League colleges and universities, say Lagos Business School in Nigeria. The marketing taught at these institutions, even though great, are too complex for a harried business owner like me who wants a quick solution to my pressing cash flow problem.
I mean, it’s either I get that solution quickly –– right now –– or my business is going to be history. You get the point? Great! So all that Havard Business Review kind of stuff will greatly slow me down.
Now don’t get me wrong. The professors who write the stuff published in the Havard Business Review do their level best to make you understand and enjoy their books. I’ve benefited immensely from their works.
There are not a few brilliant marketing ideas that I’ve gleaned from books published by the Havard Business School Press that I found to be absolute life savers. [While we are at it, why don’t you surf to their website at www.hbspress.org and take a look at what they have?].
To give you an idea of how enormously indebted I’m to the great marketing minds in the Ivy League community, one of their own, Michael E. Porter, authored the book that saved my skin from competitors. The title of the book is Competitive Advantage: Creating and Sustaining Superior Performance.
Together with its companion title, Competitive Strategy: Techniques for Analyzing Industries and Competitors, also authored by Michael Porter, I was able to fend off competitors in our publishing business at a time when we looked so frail and vulnerable.
Thank you, Mr. Porter!
Notwithstanding, there is, however, a simpler way to explain marketing. When I discovered this approach, I totally fell in love with it. It was pure, unadulterated marketing brought to the lay man’s level. I love it! And, trust me, you’ll love it, too.
Let me start my introduction of these marketing geniuses [my own opinion, mind you!], from Mark Joyner. Ever heard that name before? Never mind. From now on, both of you will be inseparable.
Let Mark take you into his marketing world with his The Irresistible Offer: How to Sell Your Product or Service in 3 Seconds or Less and then follow it with The Great Formula: for Creating Maximum Profit with Minimal Effort.
With those two books for a start, you will have an idea of what I’m talking about.
Next on my list is Jay Conrad Levinson. Do you remember that name? He’s the one who wrote the book, 555 Ways To Earn Extra Money, in which I discovered Entrepreneur Magazine which in turn opened my eyes to the wonderful world of marketing and what I had been missing by not having the faintest idea about what it was.
Any of Jay Conrad Levinson’s book is a winner any day. But get hold of these ones when next you’re at a bookshop where good books are sold: Guerrilla Marketing: Easy and Inexpensive Strategies for Making Big Profits from Your Small Business and Guerrilla Marketing Weapons: 100 Affordable Marketing Methods.
While you are at that bookshop where good books are sold, grab any copy of Philip Kotler’s books that you see, especially the one titled, Kotler on Marketing: How to Create, Win, and Dominate Markets.
Now let’s move on to two men whose books always turn me on. I’m talking about Al Ries and Jack Trout. Their all time best seller, Positioning: The Battle for Your Mind, is now a classic. You absolutely must have a copy of this book and read it. Great stuff!
Two other must have titles by these co-authors are 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing: Violate Them at Your Own Risk! and Marketing Warfare.
Al Ries and Jack Trout’s contribution to my marketing knowledge is unquantifiable. But what can I say of Jay Abraham? Jay is considered to be one of the greatest marketing minds alive. But be warned: Jay is not cheap!
Jay has a reputation of charging his clients $5000 per hour as consultation fees. And he’s known to have charged $25,000 per person for a three-day seminar. Jay has written only two books. The first one is titled: Getting Everything You Can Out of All You’ve Got: 21 Ways You Can Out-Think, Out-Perform, and Out-Earn the Competition while the second one, which he released earlier this year, is titled, The Sticking Point Solution: 9 Ways to Move Your Business from Stagnation to Stunning Growth In Tough Economic Times.
It doesn’t matter which of the two books you lay your hands on, you’ll get full value for your money. But I’ll recommend that you go for the two titles. And then go online and shop for Jay’s audio programs. They are powerful stuff.
Okay, this is where we shall stop in this edition. Join me next week as I introduce you to more master marketers whose insights are sure to make a difference in your life in 2010.

Although originally used chiefly by women, laser hair removal has become rapidly more popular among men, as fashion shifts towards demanding boyish smoothness from adult men as part of the modern style. Some men even go so far as to have their facial hair removed permanently, and many others consider back hair, leg hair, chest hair, underarm hair, or even public hair to be an unsightly blemish that is best gotten rid of as permanently as possible. Fortunately for men following this fashion trend, laser hair removal techniques have kept pace with their desires.
In fact, laser hair removal is particularly well-adapted to removing beard and moustache hairs. Since the laser treatment is generally most effect with coarse-textured, dark hairs, the hairs on the human male face are natural targets for this method of permanent epilation. Most men’s beards are darker than their hair color, and beard hair is typically thick and wiry – well-adapted to absorb large amounts of heat from aesthetic laser applications – and respond quickly and well to treatment.
Some men opt for a full removal of beard and moustache hair, giving them a permanently shaven appearance, while others choose more selective targeting, removing neck hair or taking the hair off the cheeks to leave a goatee or similar small beard. Other facial hair – particularly hairs growing between the eyebrows – can also be effectively removed using laser treatments.
Back and chest hair have also become unfashionable in recent years in some circles, and laser hair treatment can also be used to remove this hair. Underarm hair is a particularly common target for permanent removal among men, who are nearly as likely to undertake this procedure as women, and as in the case of the beard, the generally dark color of underarm hair makes it a prime subject for successful laser epilation. Leg hair is often thinned, or even completely removed, by some men who feel that smoothness is a more attractive feature for the modern male leg, also using laser techniques.
Finally, pubic hair is sometimes removed by men as well. The skin in this area is sensitive and laser removal of pubic hair tends to be quite painful because of this. However, it is a safer alternative to shaving, since shaving the pubic area can lead to nicks and cuts, which in turn can lead to infections. Pubic shaving is also much more difficult than facial shaving, so laser hair removal in this area will spare the necessity of engaging in this clumsy activity.
In short, permanent laser hair removal is no longer confined only to its original female audience. Men who wish to keep up with latest fashion trends have been increasingly adopting it as well as an effective alternative to shaving and depilatory creams.

Domestic violence against men is an all too real issue that doesn’t get as much attention as it should. There are an overwhelming number of domestic violence statistical data illustrating domestic violence against women. But, there is also plenty of evidence of men being subjected to domestic violence, as well. Some statistics suggest that out of every 100 reported domestic violence cases, about 40 of them are against men.
One of the biggest supporters against domestic violence against both men and women is , the 2007 Grammy award winning singer / songwriter. She was so moved by this “epidemic” that she started the Blue Movement in support of the victims of domestic violence. In fact, she was so moved by the story she saw on Oprah that she wrote a song called “By the Grace of God” as a way to speak out against domestic violence.
The month of October is designated as domestic violence month. As such, it is important for lawmakers and the general population to consider elevating the issue of domestic violence in support of a gender neutral movement. According to one report, there were an estimated 800,000 reported cases of domestic violence against men last year.
Domestic violence whether against men or women should not be tolerated. It’s somewhat understandable how women might get a wider audience of support, considering society views them as more vulnerable. And, of course, cases like the Annie Le murder at Yale or the Jaycee Dugard abduction capture the minds of the American populace. The perpetrators for the most part are men, but in the case of Dugard, the perpetrator was also his wife.
What many people fail to consider is that domestic violence against men, like women, happen in many different ways. Let’s look at the very visible case of Christopher Savoie. At face value, this may not appear to be domestic violence, but the man is now in jail because his wife abducted their children and took them to Japan. She was U.S. court had issued an arrest warrant for the mother!
According to a report by The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, they studied 11,000 men and women involved in domestic violence cases. What they found was that in 50% of the cases, the domestic violence involved both parties. And, an interesting fact, the woman was the first to strike. One other interesting revelation was that when the violence was one-sided, 70% of the time the perpetrator was the woman.
Another interesting statistic shows that domestic violence against men has more than doubled in the last 10 years. The actual numbers are probably even higher, because like in many domestic violence cases, they often are not reported. And, even when reported the victims and perpetrators often change their stories.
No matter how you look at the information, domestic violence against men or women is a bad thing. It’s bad for the parties involved, hurts communities and destroys families. Let’s all just hope that we find a way to educate everyone of this terrible travesty.

This is the second article of the series:” The Wind in Bible versus Quran”.
The Bible says that the Almighty Creator 1) made the Winds His Angels, 2) His servants are flames of fire, 3) He has chariot, 4) He walks on the wings of wind and 5) He made the earth never moves etc. The Noble Quran says that Naught is as Allah’s likeness in attributes. Any form, picture, thoughts that you put the Almighty Creator in it is absolutely mistaken.
===============================
The Wind in the Bible (2)
In Psalm 104:1-8, Kind David says:
“Bless Jehovah, O my soul. O Jehovah my God, thou art very great; You are clothed with honor and majesty: Who covers himself with light as with a garment; Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain; Who lays the beams of his chambers in the waters; Who makes the clouds his chariot; Who walks upon the wings of the wind; Who makes winds his Angels; Flames of fire his servants; Who set the foundations of the earth, that it should not be moved for ever. You cover it with the deep as with vesture; the waters stood above the mountains. At thy rebuke they fled; At the voice of your thunder they hasted away. They flowed over the mountains; they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them.”
—————————-
Herein, there are some important points:
1) The Bible describes the lord God, the Almighty Creator as:
He has clothes
He covers himself with light as with a garment
He stretches out the heavens like a curtain
He lays the beams of his chambers in the waters
His chariot is made of clouds
He walks upon the wings of the wind
He makes winds his Angels
His servants are flames of fires
He set the foundations of the earth
His voice is the thunder
2) The Bible says that the earth has foundations and it should not be moved for ever.
3) The speed of the Lord God was that of the wind.
4) The wind has wings!
Moreover, there are some discrepancies in the translation of some words in the many versions of the Bible e.g.:
In some Bible’s versions, the word “Angel” is translated to “messenger”.
In some Bible’s versions, the word “wind” is translated to “spirit”.
In some Bible’s versions, the word “curtain” is translated to “tent”.
—————————-
On the other hand, all of the above points are ABSOLUTELY rejected in the Noble Quran because:
1) The Noble Quran says that Naught is as Allah’s likeness in attributes. Any form, picture, thoughts that you put the Almighty Creator in it is absolutely wrong.
2) The Almighty Creator is not a body
3) The thunder is not the voice of the Almighty Creator.
4) When the Almighty Creator decides upon a matter, when He wants to do anything, He only says to it ‘Be!’ and it is.
5) The speed of the Lord God was that of the wind; for instance, does not He know the speed of the light? However, Naught is as Allah’s likeness in attributes.
6) The wind has no wings!
7) the Angels are created from the Pure Light.
the Angels are the servants of the Almighty Creator and they never disobey Him.
9) The earth has No foundations and it is rounded and it moves
10) The Great Prophet King David can not say that about the Almighty Creator simply because he knows better who Allah is.
—————————-
Aside from the Bible and the Quran, boys in schools know very well that the earth moves and it has two types of movements: the first one is around the sun at about 100,000 km/h. It takes 365 days (1 year/12 months) for the Earth to complete one revolution around the Sun. and the other around itself. It takes 24 hours for the earth to spin around itself.
These two movements are responsible for the seasonal changes and the day and night respectively.
I really do not believe that the Lord God or King David says that the earth foundations and it should not be moved for ever. .
——————————————————————————————-
Psalm 104:1-8 in three different versions of the Bible:
New International Version
1 Praise the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.
2 He wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent
3 and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.
4 He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants.
5 He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.
6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
7 But at your rebuke the waters fled, at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;
8 they flowed over the mountains, they went down into the valleys, to the place you assigned for them.
King James Version
1Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
2Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
3Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
4Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
5Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
6Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
7At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
8They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.
Young’s Literal Translation
1Bless, O my soul, Jehovah! Jehovah, my God, Thou hast been very great, Honour and majesty Thou hast put on.
2Covering himself [with] light as a garment, Stretching out the heavens as a curtain,
3Who is laying the beam of His upper chambers in the waters, Who is making thick clouds His chariot, Who is walking on wings of wind,
4Making His messengers — the winds, His ministers — the flaming fire.
5He hath founded earth on its bases; It is not moved to the age and for ever.
6The abyss! as with clothing Thou hast covered it, Above hills do waters stand.
7From Thy rebuke they flee, From the voice of Thy thunder haste away.
8They go up hills — they go down valleys, Unto a place Thou hast founded for them.

The Wind in the Noble Quran (2)
In this article, the following three points will be discussed:
1) The Historical destructive wind as a Punishment for the disbelievers of the Ancient nation of Aad
2) What if Allah wants to do anything?
3) The Precious verse (faith-wise) of the Quran that describes the Almighty Creator
——————————————————————————————-
1) The Historical destructive wind as a Punishment for the disbelievers of the Ancient nation of Aad.
Verses 69:4-8 of the Noble Quran describe this destructive wind!
Historical Background:
Aad was an ancient nation. Aad nation is always mentioned in the Noble Quran as a nation that came after Noah. Allah sent his Prophet Hud to the people of Aad; some of them believed and many of them disbelieved. Allah punished the disbelievers of Aad by the wind and He saved the believers. The people of Aad were famous by their outstanding might.
It is said that Aad nation lived at the south of Saudi Arabia, nearby Yemen.
The Prophet Hud was Arabic.
The nation of Aad and the Prophet Hud are not mentioned in the Bible.
Thamud was an ancient nation. Thamud nation came after the nation of Aad; it is always mentioned in the Noble Quran as a nation that came after Aad.
Allah sent his Prophet Salih to the people of Thamud; some of them believed and many of them disbelieved. Allah punished the disbelievers of Thamud when they killed the Camel which was the miracle of the Prophet Salih who warned his people not to hurt that Camel and they agreed but they never kept their word. The miraculous Camel emerged from a big rock and it has no father and no mother; it came out as an intact adult Camel following Allah’s will when He says to anything He wants: Be! And it is.
The people of Aad were famous by the might and transgression.
It is said that Aad nation lived at the northern part of Saudi Arabia, nearby Yemen.
The nation of Thamud is too not mentioned in the Bible may be because the Prophet Salih was Arabic too.
—————————-
The meanings of verses 69:4-8
Verses 69:4
The nation of Thamud and the nation of Aad both disbelieved in the Resurrection to come and they denied their Prophets and refuted the Day of Judgment.
Verses 69:5
As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overwhelming Roar, an excessively severe shout of the Angel Gabriel. They were destroyed because of their transgression and idolatry; and it is said that their transgression drove them to disbelieve until they were destroyed.
Verses 69:6
And as for Aad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind. The wind was deafening, intensely clamorous, violent wind, [that was] powerful and severe [in its assault] upon Aad, despite their power and might.
Verses 69:7
Allah forced and imposed that wind upon them uninterruptedly for seven nights and eight days with the same force so that you might have seen the people therein lying prostrate, lying dead on the ground, as if they were the hollow, collapsed, trunks of palm-trees.
Verses 69:8
So do you O Muhammad see any remnant of them? Do you see one remaining?’ No!
—————————-
Verses 69:4-8 of the Noble Quran in four different translations:
Verses 69:4
QARIB: Thamood and Aad belied the clatterer.
SHAKIR: Samood and ad called the striking calamity a lie
PICKTHAL: (the tribes of) Thamud and Aad disbelieved in the judgment to come.
YUSUFALI: the Thamud and the ‘ad people (branded) as false the stunning calamity!
Verses 69:5
QARIB: Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel),
SHAKIR: then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment
PICKTHAL: as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning.
YUSUFALI: but the Thamud, – they were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning!
Verses 69:6
QARIB: as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind
SHAKIR: and as to ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast
PICKTHAL: and as for Aad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind,
YUSUFALI: and the ‘ad, they were destroyed by a furious wind, exceedingly violent;
Verses 69:7
QARIB: that he subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down.
SHAKIR: which he made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms
PICKTHAL: which he imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees.
YUSUFALI: he made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down!
Verses 69:8
QARIB: can you see any remnant of them now?
SHAKIR: do you then see of them one remaining?
PICKTHAL: canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them?
YUSUFALI: then seest thou any of them left surviving?
——————————————————————————————-
2) What if Allah wants to do anything?
Verse 36: 82 says:
QARIB: when he wills a thing, his command is to say to it ‘be’, and it is!
SHAKIR: his command, when he intends anything, is only to say to it: be, so it is
PICKTHAL: but his command, when he intendeth a thing, is only that he saith unto it: be! and it is.
YUSUFALI: verily, when he intends a thing, his command is, “be”, and it is!
The meanings of the verse:
His command, His affair, when He wills a thing, that is, [when He will] to create something, or to do anything is just to say to it ‘Be’, and it is.
——————————————————————————————-
3) The Precious verse (faith-wise) of the Quran that describes the Almighty Creator
Verse 42: 11 says
QARIB: the originator of the heavens and the earth, he has given you from yourselves, pairs, and also pairs of cattle, thereby multiplying you. there is nothing like him. he is the hearer, the seer.
SHAKIR: the originator of the heavens and the earth; he made mates for you from among yourselves, and mates of the cattle too, multiplying you thereby; nothing like a likeness of him; and he is the hearing, the seeing
PICKTHAL: the creator of the heavens and the earth. he hath made for you pairs of yourselves, and of the cattle also pairs, whereby he multiplieth you. naught is as his likeness; and he is the hearer, the seer.
YUSUFALI: (he is) the creator of the heavens and the earth: he has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle: by this means does he multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto him, and he is the one that hears and sees (all things).
The meanings of the verse:
He (Allah) is the Originator of the heavens and the earth, the One Who created them [without precedent]. He has made for you, from your own selves, pairs, when He created Eve from Adam’s rib, and [also] pairs, males and females, of the cattle and whereby He multiplies you through marriage. There is nothing like Him; there is no likeness of Him, exalted be He). He is the Hearer, of what you say, the Seer, of your works. Naught is as His likeness in attributes, knowledge, power and providence etc.
The basic point of faith is that Naught is as your Almighty creator.
Since man is a creature which has Spirit that gives him like; and since Naught is as the likeness of your Creator, then the Almighty Creator has NO SPIRIT.
Hence, the Almighty Creator is not a body or material like us. Any form, picture or thoughts that you put the Almighty Creator in it is absolutely wrong.
According to the Islamic Rule of Faith, if any one put the Almighty Creator in any form, picture or thoughts, he or she is Disbeliever and has No faith; and he will end up in the Hereafter as a dweller of the Eternal Fire.
This is in spite of what name(s) you are giving to your Almighty Creator e.g. Allah, Lord, God, Jehovah etc.
On the other hand, the vice versa is absolutely True!

Almost all webmasters or website owners are looking for ways to get better results from their websites. They wish to improve their site’s standing and get better rankings in search engines. This quest for improved results, known as search engine positioning, can be satisfied by following a few basic procedures.
Before you even begin, you have to realize that you are competing against hundreds, and in some categories, thousands of websites offering similar products and services. In the case of affiliate marketing, many of the competing websites may even be identical! If you want to get the edge over these competitors and improve your search engine positioning you have to fine-tune your website and actively work to make it better.
1. Make Sure that your design is search engine friendly:
Your design may look good to your eyes, but it may also be the cause of you present difficulties and poor search engine positioning. How is that possible? Look at your web page using a text editor or the html view of popular editors such as Dreamweaver and Frontpage. On what line does your first line of copy begin? If your actual copy is pushed far down the page, it is more difficult for search engines to pick up the crucial information that would have helped you to improve your web page ranking.
If you have this difficulty, first take out all unnecessary spaces in the html code. If there are long strings of javascript, put these in external files. Similarly, put style information in external Cascading Style Sheet files. Simplifying your table structure may also help. If this starts getting too complicated for you, then consult with a professional search engine positioning specialist or your web designer.
2. Make sure your keywords are strategically placed in your copy:
It is not possible to improve web page ranking if the readable copy on your web page does not contain the words you wish to be found by. Many people erroneously think that just putting your important keywords in meta tags is enough. This is not true, some search engines hardly use the meta tags and look more to the copy on the page. Make sure that your important copy is in the first paragraph of text, in headlines (using headers such as H1, H2, H3) and in the active or clickable portions of link text on your page.
3. Use a site map and text link navigation on your pages:
If you want to improve your search engine positioning for all the pages of your website then you have to be sure that these pages actually get indexed or included in the search engines. You can help this process along by making a site map, a web page that has text links to all the sub pages of your site. Another good practice is to include a text link navigation system on your web pages, even if you already have a graphics based navigation bar elsewhere on these same pages. Remember, search engines follow text links more easily. A robot that lands on your main page or site map page will follow the text links and then visit and index your lower level pages.
4. Increase the quantity and quality of inbound links:
In fiercely competitive categories it will be difficult to improve web page ranking without obtaining a good number of links to your page from other websites. If you have very good and valuable copy, other sites may link to you because you are a valuable resource. However, if you want to speed this process along you will have to actively request links from other websites, either by trading links or by getting your content (with a link back to your site) placed on other websites.
When it comes to links you should keep in mind one important principle: it is not the quantity of links that is important, but the quality. One good link from an authority site such as CNN or Wikipedia is worth more than dozens of links from other sites. To get these quality links, there is no short cut. You will have to earn it by having a site that provides a lot of useful information.
5. Keep up with Search Engine Developments:
The challenge of improving your web page ranking and search engine positioning is dynamic. Search engines are not static. Most of the big search engines of yesterday have disappeared or are only minor players today. You should keep up with changes in the world of search engines by taking part in online forums or subscribing to newsletters which deal with topics such as search engine optimization, web ranking, and general webmaster related issues.

This vegetarian food guide will try to describe to you two things. One of them is the typical vegetarian foods that people consume and what makes up a vegetarian food diet. The second part of this article will recommend to the vegans and partial vegetarians out there where to find good vegetarian food in Singapore. Vegetarian food is made up of several things. The first is whole grain foods, which come in the form of stuff like cereals, corn, wheat, oats, rice and products that include pasta, bread and even the Mexican tortilla. They also include legumes like beans and peas, soy’s and pinto, kidney beans and garbanzos. They can come in the form of soy products like drinks and perishable food, friend and naturally prepared tofu and protein foods and can be served as ‘mock meat’
The best examples of vegetables that taste like meat are soy products and brinjal – when carefully prepared, can give the meat taste to vegetarians. Other things include fruits, nuts and seeds, a whole host of monounsaturated and vegetable oils, dairy products, eggs and sweets. There are two types of vegetarians in the world today, those who conform to a strict vegetable diet only, which means they do not eat eggs and dairy products because they come from animals, and the more causal vegetarians who eat eggs and milk – with some of them even eating fish and white meat. Whatever the case, these vegetarians do what they do and eat what they eat based upon the fact that they have a belief and philosophy in life, or wish to pursue a healthy lifestyle.
Many Hindus and North Indians in Singapore are vegetarian, which explains the sheer amount of North Indian and South Indian vegetarian restaurants all over Singapore. There has also been an ‘organic food’ explosion, with many organic restaurants opening up in Singapore, touting products and food that is one hundred percent all natural with cooking methods that do not include any sort of use of oil or animal products. This clean and green eating style has been gaining massive popularity in Singapore of late and more and more people have been patronising these eating houses. Just a quick stroll through Orchard Road will reveal many such places.
Their prices range from affordable to fine dining prices, and some vegetarians shy away because of the price. But not to worry, the suburbs of Singapore and the small rural neighbourhoods have a collection of vegetarian eating houses of all ethnic and sometimes international influences that are sure to offer you something that appeals to you. From strictly all natural eating houses to casual vegetarian restaurants, there is something for everyone. Chinese, Malay, North Indian, Mediterranean and even European influenced eating houses are there are your disposal and the good thing is, they are very descriptive when it comes to cooking methods and ingredients used, because they recognise that vegetarians are very particular about what they eat. For those with alternative tastes and need a vegetarian food guide, look up online and you will find plenty of places to dine at.
